Fairphone Open 18.01.1 release¶
Fairphone Open 18.01.1 has been released. You can get it through the updater, or by download in the download section of this site.
This release includes the F-Droid privileged extension, which allows the F-Droid app to install, remove, and update applications without the user having to enable installation of applications from unknown sources in settings. The F-Droid privileged extension also enables F-Droid to automatically update applications in the background.
Fixed an issue where the Camera app resolution wasn’t updated after installing new camera modules.
Added support for CHUNK_TYPE_FILL sparse image flashing.
Security fixes¶
Please note: Due to missing platform vendor specific patches, the Android security patch level will remain December 1, 2017. Protecting our users is our top priority, and as this month’s software update addresses some important security issues, we have decided to not wait with releasing this month’s update. We are working closely with our platform vendor to address the remaining issues as quickly as possible.
